Several numbered tacks ranging from #1 to #24 - but, go figure, there are no #18 in this whole lot!

Research tells me brass numbered tacks were / are used for matching windows to wooden screens, storm windows or shutters.  Color me crazy, but I do not know if that is what these are for or not.  They came to me like this from a vintage estate sale.

They are approximately 1/2 inch in diameter.  Most appear to be in good condition - there are a few that are either dirty or damaged.  The tack part is intact on all of them.  There are 49 total.
